PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: To develop and maintain an organizational framework aligned to ISBE Special Education Indicators and the RPS 205 Strategic Plan, and to ensure legal and professional standards as outlined by Board Policy and IDEA are upheld. This position must also implement a cadence of accountability with efficient and appropriate special education data reporting, and provide timely reports to supervisors to indicate progress. Lastly, this position provides professional development on PowerSchool and ESchool to identified groups of staff members.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Non-certified support staff
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. 3. Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment.
4. Develops and maintains an operational calendar.
5. Develops, facilitates, and evaluates systems and processes to identify gaps in service, data, or records.
6. Develops, facilitates, and evaluates professional development topics related to assigned duties.
7. Ensures compliance with all laws, regulations, and administrative rules that affect special education programs and services.
8. Develops a cadence of accountability for results using district data to present regularly.
9. Provides technical assistance to programs, staff members regarding the use of software.
10. Works collaboratively with building principals and district administrators to align programming with district and departmental goals.
11. Conducts assessments of assigned staffing/programming groups through compliance checks and data tracking.
12. Oversees budget of assigned staffing/programming to support programs/needs that align with district initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's degree in Business Administration or related field preferred as well as experience with information systems, accounting, statistics, management and operations.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1. Extensive knowledge of eSchool and Powerschool special education platforms.
2. Must maintain knowledge of special education programming in the Rockford Public Schools.
3. Able to create and maintain advanced workbooks using Google and Microsoft.
4. Able to work collaboratively with district and building level staff.
