Description
Tufts Medical Center and Tufts University School of Medicine, located in downtown Boston, Massachusetts, is seeking a new Director of Abdominal Transplant Anesthesia.
Tufts Medical center has a long and successful experience with solid organ transplantation. Over the last decade, Tufts Medical Center averages more heart transplants than any program in New England. We continue to build our abdominal transplant program, and are on pace this year for a 5 fold increase in kidney transplants. We are excited to restart our liver transplant program and seek to recruit a board certified anesthesiologist with experience in both cadaveric and living donor partial liver transplantation. Significant liver transplantation experience is required. Completion of a liver transplant fellowship is not required but we prefer experience with living donation.
The Tufts Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine prides itself on being a robust training program that trains residents, fellows, SRNAs. Candidates should either be:
Fellowship trained in Critical Care Medicine, Cardiac Anesthesiology or Transplant Anesthesiology that includes the perioperative care of at least 10 liver transplant recipients.
or
Within the last five years, experience in the perioperative care of at least 20 liver transplant recipients in the operating room. Experience acquired during postgraduate (residency) training shall not count for this purpose.
Candidate credentials to include:
Board Certification in Anesthesiology and ability to obtain a license in Massachusetts
Qualifications for anticipated academic appointment at the Associate Professor or Professor level
Track record of clinical, academic, and administrative leadership
Experience with solid organ transplantation
