The Senior Federal Accounts Lead is a subject matter expert across Veterans Health Administration, Department of Defense/Tricare, Indian Health Services, and Federal Bureau of Prisons, within a targeted geography. This role is an integral member of the Government Business Team, helping to shape the future of Amneal Pharmaceuticals with Federal Government stakeholders unlocking partnership potential and optimizing portfolio value. This role is pivotal in facilitating strategic business relationships, maximizing portfolio access and growth, and delivering innovative solutions to key decision makers in Federal Accounts. This role will develop long term strategic business relationships with VA Medical Centers (VAMC), DoD Military Treatment Facilities (MTF), Indian Health Services (IHS) and Federal Bureau of Prisons (FBoP) leadership and formulary decision makers. This role will also lead all regional customer level efforts with VA Oncology and Neurology Centers of Excellence (CoEs), as well as SUD programs. This role will maintain an in-depth knowledge of the Federal healthcare ecosystem to provide effective account management, proactively identifying opportunities and anticipating obstacles. This role will engage with Federal Pharmacy KOLs and other key decision makers/influencers to ensure appropriate formulary access, CFUs, and Clinical Pathways at the VISN and facilities level, as well as facilitate educational opportunities with VA HCPs.

Essential Functions:
  • Lead and position Amneal Pharmaceuticals as a valued partner to targeted federal government accounts moving from a transactional relationship to trusted advisor and partner of choice. Develop robust account strategies that create access opportunities via national/local formulary access, CFUs, and Clinical Pathways for the portfolio and amplifies growth. Ensure close collaboration with other members of the Government team, Sales, Medical Affairs, Marketing, and Analytics, to capture relevant regional federal channel insights, identify gaps, and develop strategic initiatives to maximize pull-through at the regional level.
  • Participate in industry-related associations and networking organizations to increase Amneal brand awareness in the Federal channel. Represent Amneal at key trade and customer meetings / conferences.
  • Empower, inspire, and mentor other colleagues by providing strategic direction and modeling Amneal's culture and contributing to the leadership pipeline. Lead (without authority) a cross-functional team to exceed expectations and grow the overall portfolio within the government segment
  • Track trends and events impacting the federal market and help translate into meaningful insights to inform strategies for senior leadership to address them.
  • Estimated travel is approximately 50%


Qualifications

Education:
  • Bachelors Degree (BA/BS) Business or Science related major - Required

Experience:
  • 4 years or more in direct experience working in the Federal Channel, with established relationships - Required
  • 5 years or more in pharmaceutical Account Management or Federal Government Payor Relations, Government Contracting Experience, or Health Systems Account Management Experience - Required
  • 7 years or more in pharmaceutical Industry or Related Healthcare Industry Experience with progressively higher levels of responsibility - preferred
  • 3 years or more in Prior experience in Oncology, Neurology, Biosimilars, Opioid Overdose Prevention/Substance Use Disorder, Medical Countermeasures - preferred
  • Previous military experience, and/or CAC Card/Access Card - preferred

Skills:
  • Demonstrated excellence in account management, relationship development, account penetration and product formulary acceptance - Advanced
  • Exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal) and influencing skills - Advanced
  • Self motivated with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple customers simultaneously - Advanced
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel and PowerPoint) - Advanced
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, in a fast-paced matrixed team environment - Advanced
  • Demonstrated strategic planning capabilities and strategic / critical thinking - Advanced

Specialized Knowledge:
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of the Military health care system and Veterans Administration Health care system, including the patient journey, as well as impact of commercial market to Tricare and VA Community Care.
  • Understanding of all available Federal Contracting Vehicles and federal/government pricing calculations.
  • Established relationships with key federal stakeholders.
