GGC is actively searching for an Enterprise Architect

About this Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager, IT, in this role, you will be part of the Technology and Transformation Team. We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect to be involved in the strategic design, implementation, and governance of enterprise-wide technology solutions. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in Azure, cloud infrastructure, SaaS platforms, and application/member management systems. This role plays a part in shaping the future-state technology landscape for Girl Guides of Canada as part of an exciting Digital Transformation initiative, while also ensuring the stability and effectiveness of current systems during the transition.

In this role you will:
  • Responsible for the design of conceptual and physical architecture for technology, with a focus on customer engagement tools and/or processes (such as CRM, Marketing, Web applications)
  • Lead the creation of solution blueprints to guide functional design
  • Ability to provide overall architecture designs, including components such as Technology recommendations, application/infrastructure design, cloud architecture, security, integration, data flow design etc.
  • Participate in a Digital Transformation project to assist with the build of a digital roadmap, working alongside a consulting partner.
  • Assist with support and maintenance of infrastructure platforms (such as O365, Teams, audio/video, SharePoint, cloud, networking and IT security).
  • Support the Azure cloud environment, consisting of various Azure services (such as entra ID, virtual machine, load balances, app services, sql instances).
  • Troubleshoot issues related to on-premise systems and network, including active directory, file servers, firewalls, routers/switches, A/V, printers, VPN, and wifi network.
  • Ability to investigate and support cybersecurity alerts, such as risky sign-ins, conditional access
  • Knowledge of O365 administration, such as user creation, license allocation, password reset etc.
  • Collaborate with development resources/implementation partners to communicate business objectives, architecture designs, technology dependencies/limitations etc.
  • Ability to understand business strategic objectives, functional requirements and user experience to factor into architecture decisions.
  • Assist team with supporting existing infrastructure and cloud platforms.
  • Participate in infrastructure related projects and assist with hands-on system configuration and testing as needed.
  • Conduct proof of concepts as needed to validate technology design.
  • Assist with the creation of implementation plans outlining the tasks and dependencies involved with introducing new capabilities.
  • Participate in project implementations by reviewing configurations and use of technology to ensure alignment to overall architecture and business outcomes.
  • Conduct research, analysis, and evaluate new/existing technologies to improve member/stakeholder engagement.
  • Provide recommendations for enhancing or introducing new technology to satisfy ongoing business requirements.
  • Identify areas that can benefit from existing technology to reduce inefficiencies and duplication; create awareness of opportunities and risks.
  • Take ownership for the quality of the implemented solution and its adherence to technology strategies and best practices.


General:
  • Adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Liaise with other departments as required.
  • Provide general, ongoing support to members/volunteers, responding to/directing inquiries and consulting with the appropriate groups and individuals to support the mission and vision of GGC.
  • Other duties as assigned.


You are the ideal candidate if you have:
  • 7+ years of related technical experience, of which several include operating as a solution architect within an integrated enterprise environment
  • Knowledge and understanding of end-to-end technology ecosystems (such as front-end customer facing web applications, middle and back-office systems, integrations, data platforms, network infrastructure, security, and cloud hosting)
  • Experience with Microsoft technologies (Azure, Office 365) is an asset.


Additional assets include:
  • Experience in Membership-based organizations, Associations or Non-profit organizations
  • Experience working with volunteers
  • Knowledge of Girl Guides of Canada
  • Previous experience in Digital Transformation initiatives


Starting Salary: $79,404

*Salary based on location, Greater Toronto Area
