Responsibilities
  • Lead the execution of projects & initiatives that align with Samuel's business objectives resulting in successful outcomes that drive the business forward;
  • Define and execute project scope, goals, roadmap and deliverables in collaboration with Business Development, Business Unit Leads and other stakeholders;
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules with key milestones and associated communication keeping stakeholders focused on the agreed scope and benefits of the initiative to ensure achievement of targeted outcomes;
  • Proactively monitor progress of the project, ensuring key milestones are achieved;
  • Identify project related risks, discrepancies and issues and provide solutions-based input for resolution;
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises and devise contingency plans;
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with business leads and be flexible in design changes and business needs as initiatives progress;
  • Develop and embed "best practices" across Samuel sites, including process measures, process tools, and controlling KPIs (Key Performance Indicators);
  • Build, develop and grow business relationships vital to the success of the initiatives;
  • Prepare and deliver frequent, clear and concise communications to key stakeholders;
  • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality - must have the ability to work effectively within highly sensitive and confidential environments; and
  • Support on all initiatives as required.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with work experience preferably in the manufacturing industry
  • 5 - 10 years' project management experience, in a role that requires involvement, understanding and execution of business improvement initiatives
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills combined with impeccable business judgement
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal and presentation skills to influence, motivate and manage diverse groups
  • Ability to understand and communicate to the business in a clear, coherent and organized manner to all levels of the organization
  • Outstanding organizational and planning skills and attention to detail with high standards for quality
  • Ability to work independently and manage changing priorities
  • Demonstrated self-starter with a high level of energy, motivation and tenacity
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and SharePoint)
  • Driver's license is required
  • Must have authorization to travel within North America; flexibility to travel extensively to the US & Mexico is required
