Introduction
The Prince William Manassas Regional Adult Detention Center (ADC) is currently looking for a career-minded Registered Nurse (Medication Assisted Treatment Nurse/MAT) to join our high performing healthcare team. We are dedicated to providing comprehensive and compassionate care for individuals struggling with substance use disorders. Our team works collaboratively to empower patients through a variety of services, including Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT). We are currently seeking an experienced and compassionate nurse to join our team and contribute to the success of our MAT program.

The ADC is a well-established agency in Prince William County, VA. We provide safety and security for our staff and the individuals in our care while protecting the residents of Prince William County. This position will involve direct contact with inmates housed at the facility.

ABOUT THIS ROLE: As a Registered Nurse specializing in Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT), you will play a crucial role in supporting the health and well-being of patients. You will be responsible for providing direct care, administering medications, monitoring patient progress, and educating patients about their treatment plan. You will work closely with the rest of our medical team to ensure that each patient receives the best possible care and support.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: (These responsibilities are a representative sample; position assignments may vary.)
  • Administer prescribed medications and monitor patients' responses to MAT treatments.
  • Conduct assessments, including vital signs, and document patient health data accurately.
  • Provide education to patients on MAT medications, side effects, and recovery processes.
  • Manage MAT clinic and coordinate with providers.
  • Collaborate with the medical and counseling teams to develop and update individualized treatment plans.
  • Ensure that medication distribution complies with agency standards and facility protocols.
  • Respond to patient concerns and provide immediate care as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation via electronic health records (EHR).
  • Respond to medical emergencies within the facility.
  • Assist the medical department as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Previous experience in Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT).
  • Knowledge of substance use disorders and the role of MAT in recovery.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) preferred.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience working in behavioral health or substance abuse treatment settings.


KNOWLEDGE:
Customer service principles; Medical principles and practices; Medical terminology; Nursing principles and practices; Medication protocols; Modern office procedures and equipment; Recordkeeping principles; Data Entry; Computers and related software applications.

SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS
Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRMENTS:
High school diploma or G.E.D. plus a degree or diploma from a state approved professional nursing program and 1 year of related experience.

HIRING RANGE:$75,649.60. - $100,332.05 Annually

INCENTIVES:
$5000.00 Hiring Bonus
***Hiring incentives will be paid out in two (2) equal installments. Fifty percent (50%) of the incentive will be paid after ninety (90) days of employment and fifty percent (50%) will be paid following the completion of the probationary period. Probationary employees that voluntarily terminate employment with the County, shall repay the net amount (minus state and federal taxes) of the first bonus installment via a deduction from their annual leave payout and/or remit payment of any remaining balance within thirty (30) days following separation of employment from the County*** FLSA: EXEMPT

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Registered Nurse License: CPR/First Aid Certification. Must pass local, state, and federal background checks and have a valid driver's license.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Positions in this class typically require: climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, puling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
Very Heavy Work: Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed in an inherently stressful environment and involves risk to personal safety with the possible exposure to blood borne and airborne pathogens.
