Job Description
Job Title: Radiologic Technologist
Job Specialty: Computed Tomography
Job Duration: 13 months
Shift: First position 0800-1800 with every third weekend rotation. Second position 1900-0700 with every third weekend rotation.
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Experience: Minimum years of experience not specified
License: Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT)
Certifications: Advanced registry in Computed Tomography (CT) or registry-eligible, Basic Life Support (BLS)

Job Description:
- Specialize in performing computerized tomographic radiological procedures.
- Explain examination procedures to patients and prepare patients for examinations.
- Review clinical data on requisitions and perform appropriate examinations.
- Obtain additional information about patient medical history as necessary.
- Prepare procedure room and regularly replenish stock such as linen and related supplies.
- Analyze anatomical structures of patients, set up equipment, and perform CT scans.
- Manually control equipment to obtain proper diagnostic information from the area of the body being studied.
- Administer intravenous contrast media, utilizing power injectors and monitor patients for possible reactions.
- Provide immediate care to patients if a reaction should occur.
- Prepare and set up sterile equipment, monitors, and supplies required for procedures.
- Assist Radiologists in performing complex sterile diagnostic procedures such as biopsies.
- Perform imaging procedures while demonstrating principles of radiation protection.
- Resolve image exceptions and ensure high-quality image delivery into PACS.
- Complete all study indexing in the Radiology Information System.
- Review and confirm clinical protocols with Radiologists before performing studies.
- Demonstrate consistent team member standards of excellence.
- Perform all documentation in the medical record and within the radiology information system.
Physical Demands/Working Conditions:
- May work in a hospital with a fixed unit or in an ambulatory mobile unit.
- Potentially exposed to radiation if proper precautions are not utilized.
- May be exposed to high-voltage equipment and contagious patients.
- Occasionally lift and/or move equipment and/or patients that would be in excess of 10 lbs.
Education Required:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required.
- Must maintain required hours of continued medical education.
