The Ministry of Corrections, Policing and Public Safety is seeking a dynamic and innovative professional to manage and oversee the police Recruit Training Program (RTP) and in-service police training for the Saskatchewan Police College (SKPC) located at the University of Regina.
Reporting to the Director of the SKPC, the Assistant Director of the SKPC is responsible for directing and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the SKPC. This includes the RTP and providing assistance and guidance for in-service training courses offered to external law enforcement personnel.
Under the general direction of the Director of the SKPC and in keeping with the Saskatchewan Police Commission's Strategic priorities, you will ensure that the SKPC delivers quality training for police recruits and police personnel through consistent application of course training standards, policy, and procedures. You will also carry out the mission, goals, and objectives of the SKPC in a manner that meet the needs of external stakeholders, and lead and manage personnel by maintaining positive and effective working relationships within a diverse workforce.
To qualify for this position, you will have previously served in a senior management role within the criminal justice system and have considerable education and/or experience in the police training and human services field.
