Job Description

To define and execute a regional distribution strategy for the United States at Canopius working with the US Head of Distribution and Underwriting to deliver against long-term growth plans/objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Working with Underwriting to create business plans with key brokers that leverages the organization's products and services
  • Drive growth objectives, sales campaigns and initiatives
  • Develop and Maintain Broker Profiles - document broker portfolio and go to market strategy
  • Create relationship maps connecting the local underwriters to the right contacts at key broker offices
  • Align on growth goals with key brokers
  • Report / communicate alignment of goals at the national and regional level
  • Monitor broker performance based on agreed upon growth goals. Conduct monthly and quarterly meetings with brokers and underwriting teams to review progress and course correct where necessary
  • Ongoing measurement of KPIs and monitoring of trends in Partnership (Submission Volume, Quote Ratio, Hit Ratio, UW Productivity).
  • Maintain and communicate detailed opportunity assessment with key brokers
  • Provide update on market trends, feedback on Canopius strategy, update on competition position and actions in the market
  • Provide market intelligence on new business opportunities and assist underwriters with collecting / secure information needed to make underwriting decisions.
  • In conjunction with FP&A, develop Standard Reporting Templates - Identify consistent process to generate data to ensure "single source of the truth". Drive consistency in how we manage the business

  • Engaging with underwriting a review renewals 120 days prior to effective date. Discuss and agree on renewal strategy with underwriter(s) for accounts in jeopardy
  • In coordination with the Head of Distribution and Underwriting, set financial and operational performance goals based on business segment growth and portfolio management targets

    • Quote Ratio (Specific target for each Underwriter)
  • Facilitate recurring meetings - by region and business segments with leadership to identify potential gaps to stated goals and develop mitigation plans

  • Representing Canopius externally in a manner that enhances market reputation and profile.
  • Other duties may be assigned.


Qualifications

  • Successful and profitable track record.
  • A proven leader with skills in building and developing a team, managing priorities, and thinking strategically.
  • Ability to make sound decisions based on data and risk assessment and ability to make a positive impact on the long-term success of the overall business in planning, organization, and development.
  • Good communicator, both verbally and written.
  • Good computer skills including MS office.
  • Knowledge of the Lloyd's market and international markets

Salary Range: $175,000- $220,000
