Job Description
Job Title: Occupational Therapist - Inpatient Rehab
Job Specialty: Occupational Therapy in Inpatient Rehab
Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Day Shift, 5x8-Hour (08:00 - 16:30)
Guaranteed Hours: Not specified
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in an acute hospital setting
License: State license required; compact license acceptable if process started for future start dates
Certifications: BLS required; Manual Therapy and Lymphedema certifications/licenses preferred
Must-Have: Cerner experience preferred; experience in manual therapy and lymphedema preferred
Job Description:
- Work Monday to Friday with one weekend day required per month throughout the contract.
- Evaluate patients and develop plans of care that may include ADL training, therapeutic exercises, and therapeutic activities to improve function.
- Assess the appropriateness of discharge disposition recommendations on a daily basis.
- Be part of an inpatient acute care rehab team consisting of 19 professionals.
- Expect to see patients in all levels of acuity, from ICU to progressive care units, with various diagnoses such as CABG and other cardiac procedures, stroke, TBI, joint replacement, fracture repairs, respiratory illnesses, dementia, MS, Parkinson's disease, ambulation, etc.
- Wear royal blue scrubs with black shoes.
- Chart patient data using Cerner software.
- Participate in orientation for 12 hours.
- Must be flexible and willing to float within the hospital or to affiliate hospitals nearby.
- Must provide 2 supervisor references.
- Candidates are required to work 2 out of 3 major holidays during the contract duration.
