Seeking a psychiatrist to join an existing group for the expansion of a new inpatient facility. The state-of-the-art facility will have an eight-bed adolescent unit, 24 bed adult unit and 12 bed geropsychiatry unit. Child and adolescent services include Board certified child and adolescent psychiatrist who is also boarded in pediatrics. There is also a CA nurse practitioner. The Department is involved in teaching family practice residents, medical students, nurse practitioners, physician assistants and social work interns. A psychiatric residency program will be initiated once the hospital is built. An ECT program will also be added. The psychiatrist will be evaluating and treating a child/adolescent population. Anticipated patient load would be 18-20 patients per day. This will involve rounding on the inpatient units and seeing psychiatry consults in the Medical Center. Board certification and 5 years of experience preferred. New graduates also considered. Practice located on hospital campus Collegial call coverage and support available. Community/Facility info: Centrally located in southwestern Pennsylvania. The County's population is about 89,000 and stable, with a concentration of about 23,000. Largest of the state-owned colleges at about 14,500 undergraduates, is the largest employer in the county. Hospital is second largest employer with about 1400 currently on the payroll. The community is well-known for its quality school system that is highly ranked in the state and has been nationally recognized. There are a great many activities available for children and adults alike. Outdoor sports include fishing, hunting, golfing, tennis, swimming, boating, hiking, and camping with many different kinds of opportunities. The university brings a large variety of cultural events to the community, and these will soon increase with the completion of a new arena within sight of the hospital.
