Volt is immediately hiring for a Quality Engineer in Canton, GA. This facility builds fuel Tanks which are used in the automotive industry to store LNG for diesel vehicles. This position will focus on these tanks for Automotive vertical.

Volt is immediately hiring for a Quality Engineer in Canton, GA. This facility builds fuel Tanks which are used in the automotive industry to store LNG for diesel vehicles. This position will focus on these tanks for Automotive vertical.

- Day shift hours
As the Quality Engineer you will:
- Problem solving and using root cause and looking at error proofing first.
- Also challenge root cause by looking at Error proofing -not just by retraining or make doc changes to processes.
- Dealing directly OEMs and also Tier 1 suppliers to the OEMs
- Handle Containment issues- if any fuel tank issues arise, drive additional procedures/quality alerts and assure product in dispatch is verified before leaving for the customer.
- Manage the warranty process, preparing, tearing down and documenting returned products and components
- Supply technical support and assure compliance to engineering and quality specifications
- Ensure initial incoming product quality through FAI and PPAP
- Ensure compliance with appropriate regulatory standards & customer specific requirements
- Perform and coordinate internal or supplier audits/training to ensure continuing compliance with Quality System Standards (ISO 9001/14001/45001/IATF 16949) and the manufacture of safe products
The ideal candidate will have:
- BS Engineering degree and 3+ year related experience in regulated quality systems in a manufacturing environment working with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams
- We will consider other backgrounds (design engineering, product development, or Manufacturing engineering if you would like to move into a Quality role)
- Possessing a thorough knowledge of the IATF 16949 requirements and the AIAG core tools
- Knowledge of SPC, Capability Studies, Gage R&R and Sampling plans.
- Familiarity with PFMEA & PPAP
- Working knowledge of DOT, Transport Canada, EN, ASME, and ASTM standards are desirable
- Demonstrated experience with root-cause problem solving techniques and error proofing methodologies
- Experience in process improvement, supplier quality assurance, welding of ferrous metals, destructive and non-destructive examinations, and supervision are a plus
- Ability to effectively communicate to a culturally diverse customer and supply base
