Valiant seeks motivated Tactical Aviation Engineer/Analyst(s) to support ARM/other weapons program RDT&E, training/documentation, and Fleet outreach in support of NAWCWD China Lake, CA. Work location is China Lake or San Diego, CA -- other locations may be considered on a value-added basis.
Job Description
Tactical Aviation Engineer/Analyst supports technical/analytical projects for NAVAIR Weapons Division. Efforts encompass legacy and developmental anti-radiation missile (ARM) and other weapons systems over the entire developmental, test, and Fleet operations life cycle. Specific tasks involve test & evaluation support for weapon/avionics system upgrades, analysis of air defense threat systems/capabilities, collaboration with weapons & tactics schoolhouses, technical/tactical documentation, "undergraduate" and advanced training for Fleet & technical/test communities (ARM University & other). Mid/long-term efforts include developing operational constructs, continued enhancement of Fleet support, and support for emerging systems. Position requires instructional acumen, curriculum development, and interpersonal skills. Expect frequent collaboration with civilian, government and military personnel.
Position location is China Lake, CA or San Diego, CA. Other locations (TACAIR operational or schoolhouse sites) negotiable for right candidate and technical/operational value to program.
Specific Qualifications
Must be US citizen.
Requires US Government security clearance. Applicant must be eligible for clearance to TOP SECRET with potential additional access requirements.
Bachelor's degree required, engineering/technical preferred. Advanced technical degree a plus.
Extensive operational experience in tactical aviation (TACAIR) operations.
Comprehensive knowledge of SEAD/strike concepts, capabilities, tactics. Strong knowledge of potential air defense threats; US TACAIR weapon systems and interfaces, notably AGM-88 HARM and AGM-88E AARGM.
Desire is mid-grade FA-18/EA-18G/F-16 aircrew (pilot/WSO/EWO) with extensive operational ARM experience and room to grow. Weapons School instructor, TACD&E or RDT&E experience highly preferred.
Must have exceptional interpersonal & technical communication skills (written & verbal).
Must have no restrictions to international travel. Must be physically able to embark upon Naval vessels or aircraft.
