Description:

Objective of the Position: This position oversees and manages the company's tax for the Americas region. (Canada, US, Mexico, Brazil and Argentina). The role ensures adherence to tax regulations, drives process improvements, and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to optimize tax strategies.

Essential Accountabilities: The position incumbent ensures, that
  • Manages relationships and deliverables with external tax consulting service provider(s)
  • Secures tax and regulatory compliance for the Americas operations.
  • Oversee assigned federal, state, and local income tax returns, sales and use tax, and other business tax fillings.
  • Ensures tax accounting records and effective tax rates are maintained and responds to audit documentation requests.
  • Oversee tax related reports for financial, regulatory, and other purposes.
  • Manages tax depreciation reports and activities related to fixed asset data for tax return preparations.
  • Oversee the calculation of quarterly estimated tax payments.
  • Ensures internal compliance with tax procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Leads process improvement initiatives in tax compliance and reporting.
  • =Provides strategic tax advisory support to the business for compliance and optimization.
  • Supports internal and external audits, ensuring timely responses and resolutions.
  • Collaborates with internal departments (financial and non-financial) to ensure tax compliance across business unites.

Secondary Accountabilities: The position incumbent ensures, that
  • Conduct all business-related activities within the limits of applicable local, state, and federal legal requirements.
  • Provide support and compliance with Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
  • Quality - Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and follows all ENA polices related to TS16949 and ISO 14001; looks for way to improve and promote quality.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirement Profile:

Professional Background / Basic Qualification / Work Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree or MBA in Accounting, Finance, or Tax.
  • Minimum 7 to 10 years' experience in managing account function.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience working for a manufacturing supplier preferably automotive.
  • Must have demonstrated knowledge in US GAAP, IFRS, Internal Controls management, and U.S. tax compliance in an international manufacturing corporate environment.
  • Ability to travel domestically by car or plane.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in SAP.

Technical Expertise:
  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections.
  • Knowledge of IFRS Accounting Standards
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts and operations, including calculations, percentages, etc.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos, and write simple correspondence.
  • Analytical- Synthesize complex or diverse information; Collects and researches data; Uses intuition and experience to complement data; Designs work flows and procedures
  • Business Acumen- Understands business implications of decisions.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement of products for manufacturability.
  • Knowledge of engineering fundaments, mechanical systems, automotive systems, and exhaust systems.
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations.
  • Project Management- Develops project plans; Coordinates projects; Communicates changes and progress; Completes projects on time and budget; Manages project team activities.
  • Strives to continuously improve expertise, knowledge and skills.
