Job Summary
An important member of the UCSF Health Marketing and Communications team, the Marketing Manager, Sports and Community Sponsorships, under the direction of the Associate Chief Marketing Officer, leads all aspects of sports and community marketing sponsorships, from initial planning to execution and post-sponsorship analysis. The incumbent will work closely with sports teams and community organizers to ensure seamless execution of sponsorship deliverables and hold responsibility for on-site event management as required. Additional responsibilities include creating meaningful marketing activations and identifying content to repurpose and amplify across different channels. The incumbent will also monitor and evaluate sponsorship programs to ensure they meet brand and strategic marketing needs, report on KPIs, and identify potential areas of sponsorship contract improvement.
This is a highly visible role that involves collaborating with executive administration, clinical and physician leaders across the health enterprise, senior campus departments in communications and community/government relations, and the various functions within the UCSF Health Marketing and Communication team. The incumbent must be highly organized, hold excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be comfortable working under pressure in both team and independent environments. Travel and evenings/weekend work required.
The annual salary range for this position is $87.9 to $187.7, with a target entry point of $111.8+ depending on experience. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. Required Qualifications
- Bachelors' degree in Marketing (Healthcare Marketing, Sports Marketing or Community Event Management) OR four (4) years of equivalent experience/training AND three (3) years or more of related experience.
- Advanced knowledge of concepts, principles and best practices of sponsorships and event planning, including design, organization, and production of complex events.
- Advanced interpersonal communication skills to build and maintain relationships at all organizational levels and with highly visible external organizations.
- Advanced judgement, decision-making and problem recognition / avoidance / resolution skills.
- Advanced skill in meeting goals and objectives within budget and time constraints.
- Proven skills to apply principles of personnel management to plan, organize, motivate staff and volunteers.
- Proven experience in providing guidance and advice in all aspects of sponsorship planning, implementation and evaluation.
- Experience developing accurate program budgets and the ability to forecast expenses and income.
- Extensive travel and potential evening or weekend hours.
Preferred Qualifications
- An understanding of the San Francisco Bay Area Sports Market and Healthcare Market is highly desirable.
License/Certification
- Valid California Driver's License
