Compensation: $70,000 Base Salary with an earnings potential up to $125K+ total compensation.

About the Role: The General Manager is responsible for the overall performance and growth of the local franchise. This includes leading and managing the daily operations, financial performance, marketing initiatives, and team development to achieve business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operations Management:
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in all aspects.
  • Implement and refine operational processes to enhance productivity and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure completion of welcome/confirmation calls to clients, investigate damage claims, and manage moving labor to company goals.
  • Schedule crew shifts, input daily metrics, manage trucks, and order marketing supplies.
  • Run payroll and ensure compliance with HR partners.
  • Close the shop and ensure all operational activities are completed successfully.
  • Financial Management:
  • Manage the business against a budget, reviewing P&L monthly and explaining the "why" to the leadership team.
  • Make operational improvements based on financial data.
  • Track costs regularly and structure systems to achieve financial benchmarks.
  • Ensure financial targets are met or exceeded as outlined in the quarterly scorecard.
  • Marketing and Sales:
  • Develop partnerships with complementary businesses.
  • Attend networking events and professional organization meetings.
  • Manage the sales team to meet or exceed revenue targets.
  • Oversee marketing initiatives to drive brand awareness and customer acquisition.
  • Team Leadership and Development:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team that embodies the company's core values.
  • Foster a positive, fun, and enthusiastic team environment.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to review performance, set goals, and address any challenges.
  • Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for team members.
  • Customer Experience:
  • Ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction by listening, fulfilling, and delighting clients.
  • Handle customer complaints and resolve issues promptly and effectively.
  • Maintain positive relationships with clients, vendors, and the community.

  • Required Experience and Skills:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management or equivalent/relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing a service industry operation, preferably in the moving or junk removal industries.
  • Strong background in sales, marketing, and operations/systems management.
  • Confident and proactive communicator; must be able to manage positive relationships with clients and team members.
  • Ability to make informed, data-based decisions and adapt to challenges on the fly.
  • Safety and liability conscious with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to drive process and strategy adoption among the team.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to work positively/effectively with people at all levels.
  • Self-disciplined with the ability to work under limited supervision.
