Executive Director, Strategic Management Services

The Corporate Services and Policy Division is seeking a results-oriented, visionary leader, based in Regina for the role of Executive Director, Strategic Management Services.

Reporting to the Assistant Deputy Minister, the successful candidate will:

  • Provide leadership and management oversight to the development, implementation and evaluation of frameworks that align and integrate the policy, planning, and performance management of the Ministry; and
  • Oversee the work of legislative, policy, planning, Indigenous advisory, records management and privacy functions together in one branch to ensure that policy research and solutions take a ministry-wide view of the client.

Typically, the knowledge and competencies for this position would have been acquired through completion of a degree or professional designation in public administration or business or other related area. Our candidate of choice will also possess:

  • Knowledge and experience with government decision making processes;
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of business planning, accountability processes and risk management;
  • Superior analytical and execution skills, combines with clear proficiency in evaluating issues, offering alternatives and creating solutions;
  • Ability to break down structure and functional barriers; encourage sharing of resources and knowledge throughout the organization to solve complex issues;
  • Ability to build commitment through collaboration, consultation and consideration of citizen and stakeholder impact and seeks out opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement;
  • Well-developed written and oral communication skills and the ability to work with, and influence, a variety of stakeholders.
