Job Title: Fire Protection Engineer Support
Location: Work shall be conducted at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Hanford Field Office (HFO) and at the Hanford Site in Richland, WA. This position may be telework eligible at the discretion of the DOE Technical Monitor (TM) in consultation with the DOE Contracting Officer (CO). If this position is identified as telework eligible, there will be a 30-day waiting period in which 100% in-office support will be expected. If in-person support is identified as required for any reason and for any length of time by the TM or CO, the contractor shall report for duty in-person as requested.
Clearance/Citizenship: Public Trust/U.S. citizen
Compensation: $75,000.00 - $110,000.00 salary for full-time employment; compensation determined on candidate years of relevant professional experience, educational licensing or certifications and related skill set.

Maximum Qualifications Required:
- Licensed fire protection engineer in any U.S. state or territory.
- 15 years of experience with fire protection at nuclear facilities.
- 15 years of experience using National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), International Building Code (IBC) and DOE standards and guidelines.
Preferred Experience and Capabilities:
- Skilled at critical thinking, problem identification and resolution.
- Technical experience with implementation of fire protection programs at HFO or other DOE and Department of Defense (DoD) facilities.
- Excellent communication skills.
Position Duties:
- Perform reviews of contractor documented safety analysis and fire hazard analysis to ensure compliance with applicable industry codes and standards - provide review comments to division director(s) or designee(s) for disposition.
- Perform reviews on prime and subcontractor activities and documentation for compliance with contract statement of work (SOW) and applicable industry codes and standards - provide review comments to division director(s) or designee(s) for disposition.
- Perform oversight of fire protection systems to ensure systems are being maintained properly and can perform their intended safety functions.
- Assist federal personnel that are assigned duties in fire protection.
