AMECO, a North American leader in Lifting and Rigging equipment, is seeking a Heavy-Lift Engineer to oversee crane and derrick projects as well as on-site crane refurbishments, repairs, and erection activities.

AMECO, a North American leader in Lifting and Rigging equipment, is seeking a Heavy-Lift Engineer to oversee crane and derrick projects as well as on-site crane refurbishments, repairs, and erection activities.
Responsibilities
- Prioritizing Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) compliance, always.
- Conducting site visits to assist in consultation and in initial project assessments of crane refurbishment, repair, upgrades and erection activities. This includes emergency service-related travel on short notice.
- Pre-engineering, scope development and cost estimating for incoming opportunities.
- Maintaining project scope, schedule, expenses vs. budget, ensuring internal and customer goal adherence.
- Overseeing equipment testing, maintenance, and installations. This includes FAT's and SAT's.
- Mitigating risk and ensuring compliance with contracts, national standards and national & local regulations.
- Directing staff, contractors, engineers, and other in-plant and on-site personnel.
- Directing meetings with clients and equipment stakeholders.
- Regular project reporting to management and clients.
Requirements
- A four-year degree in mechanical or electrical engineering relevant to our industry or equivalent work experience.
- Working knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, and electric controls.
- Working knowledge of diesel, and electric drive systems, including tiered engines, DC and VFD's.
- Working knowledge of winches, rigging, cranes and derricks is a great asset.
- Excellent mechanical aptitude, applicable common sense and troubleshooting skills are must-be assets.
- A flexible and customer-centric mindset and excellent communication skills are also an asset.
- Comfortable with Computers, CAD Applications (Solidworks preferred) and MS Office Suite
- Comfortable with working under pressure with capacity to direct multiple concurrent equipment scopes.
- Able to travel overnight 20-25% as workload/site/project demands dictate.
