Job Description
Lead a team of HSE professionals developing and maintaining systems which provide global HSE governance for the company. These systems include administrative processes, HSE policies and procedures, data collection, validation and reporting, Industrial Hygiene practices, and other core activities associated with the HSE field execution discipline. Arbitrate differences of opinion in the execution of Fluor's HSE requirements, injury and illness classification, and other issues to ensure consistent application and compliance with regulatory obligations.
Assist with development of Company HSE standards and goals and confirm Business Line/Corporate approval
Oversee development of materials for HSE training, programs and processes
Oversee the implementation of HSE departmental functions in regard to auditing, training, incident investigation, software, tools, Company HSE policies, procedures, and methods designed to drive the Company's HSE culture and meet the Company's HSE standards and goals through an expert knowledge of the Company's HSE standards, programs, and goals
Lead teams of HSE professionals, including globally diverse teams when involved in projects
Liaise as necessary between the Company, client, insurance carriers and regulatory agencies in order to provide assistance and resolution in regard to audits, remedial actions and other HSE related issues
Basic Job Requirements
Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and twenty (20) years of work-related experience
Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, suppliers, contractors, and other stakeholders
Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
Preferred Qualifications
Intimate knowledge of Fluor's HSE Management Systems including Policies, Practices, Guidance Documents, Data Collection and Reporting, Chemical Screening and Industrial Hygiene
CSP or equivalent credential
Higher education, especially in Occupational Safety, Risk, etc.
Other Job Requirements
Thoroughly understand Industrial safety and occupational health and hygiene.
Expertise in OSHA injury Illness Reporting
Understand worker's compensation processes
Understand a typical project life cycle from FEED to closeout
Know other discipline roles in a project-centric organization
Understand basic statistical concepts and applications
Convey information in written and verbal form
o Grammatically correct, clear and concise written
communication
o Public speaking
Negotiate with staff and stakeholders
Resolve conflict within team and between groups
Compromise to find equitable solutions
Organize information and ideas for productive outcomes
