Description:

Tesla's Reliability & Test Engineering Team is responsible for verifying and validating the thermal, electrical, and mechanical reliability of components and systems throughout our product line. Our team also supports field failure investigations, manufacturing change control, NVH and motor controls validation. We are seeking a multi-faceted Test Engineer to support our North America dyno test operations. You will be responsible for all aspects of test execution, monitoring and reporting key findings for NVH and controls validation.

Responsibilities
  • Work with cross functional teams such as motor controls, NVH and system validation engineers to coordinate and execute dynamometer tests
  • Investigate and solve root causes of equipment failures to ensure high uptime
  • Develop automation test scripts and tools to analyze dynamometer data
  • Perform hands-on tasks to complete the job, which includes drive unit install/uninstall and instrumentation


Requirements
  • Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of basic mechanical and electrical tools such as volt meters, oscilloscopes and power supplies
  • 0-2 years of industry experience in automotive, aerospace, or consumer product testing
  • Knowledge of low-voltage and high-voltage electrical systems (AC and DC) and high voltage battery systems
  • Programming experience for scripting and automation, Python experience or equivalent required
  • Fundamental knowledge of AC electric motors, working knowledge of motors and servo controls
  • Experience in instrumentation and data acquisition setup and troubleshooting

      $80,000 - $156,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

      Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
