Duties Description JOB SUMMARY
As the Director of Brooklyn Borough Rent Office, the incumbent will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies that enhance the Office of Rent Administration's' reputation and promote positive relationships with the public, government officials, and other key stakeholders. The incumbent will lead the Brooklyn Borough Rent Office's team and work closely with Bureau Chief of Rent Information to shape public perception, and champion ORA's mission. The incumbent will also collaborate with internal departments to ensure consistent messaging and alignment with the organization's goals and values. Lead and mentor, and supervise the Brooklyn BRO team, by providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
DUTIES
Lead the Brooklyn Borough Rent Office's (BRO) team and work closely with Director of the Borough Rent Offices to respond to rent regulation public inquires, to shape public perception, and champion ORA's mission.
Lead, mentor, and supervise the Brooklyn BRO team, by providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
Ensure that the Brooklyn BRO is properly staffed and to assign public inquiries to staff in the Brooklyn BRO and coordinate with other Bureau units to process these inquiries, which can be sourced from the central phone line, Records Access or ROCT portal units.
Initiate training sessions for the Brooklyn BRO staff on changes to regulations and statutes for rent stabilization.
Scheduling of meetings throughout Brooklyn and its surrounding counties as needed, in coordination ORA leadership and with other municipal agencies and with elected officials and their staff.
Under guidance from the Bureau leaders respond to legislative inquiries received by email and postal mail.
In coordination with the Bureau Chief, develop and implement strategies that enhance the Office of Rent Administration's reputation and promote positive relationships with the public, government officials, and other key stakeholders.
Collaborate with internal departments to ensure consistent messaging and alignment with the organization's goals and values.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree and five years of relevant experience. Four years of specialized experience or associate's degree and two years of specialized experience may substitute for a bachelor's degree; J.D. or master's degree may substitute for one year of specialized experience; Ph.D. may substitute for two years of specialized experience.
