Position Summary:

The Alumni Career SuccessCoordinator offers an important front-line service to graduates of GeorgeBrown, supporting the College's goal of building interconnected and developingpartnerships with graduates, industries and employers to increase careerrelevancy for learners, employment opportunities and life-long learning forgraduates.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provides strategic liaison related to alumni, chapter and network engagement to increase alumni and student connection with alumni employers and organizations within Canada and internationally. Works in close partnership with the Manager, Alumni + Digital Engagement, to develop a comprehensive alumni engagement strategy.
  • Develops and implements comprehensive strategies to expand networking opportunities and mentorship connections for students in final year and graduates in local, national and international markets.
  • Liaises with services and programs within the college to promote co-operative and collaborative communication with alumni chapters and networks to enhance external employer experiences with the college.
  • Contributes to the development and facilitation of online and in-person workshops, webinars, and seminars focused on career advancement and job search strategies. Remains current and incorporate the latest presentation tools and techniques into workshops, engaging alumni for maximum learning and development.
  • Manages group dynamics to maximize interest and engagement.
  • Assesses outcomes and participant satisfaction and uses data to report on outcomes and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Maintains an up-to-date career focused online resources to support alumni professional development and growth in collaboration with other stakeholders.
  • Reviews content for career-related newsletters, social media, and the alumni career website ensuring content is updated and relevant.
  • Ensures consistent and effective communication with alumni regarding career services and opportunities via alumni general email inboxes.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Educational and Experience Requirements:
  • Three-year diploma/degree or equivalent from a recognized post-secondary institution in Business and/or Event Management.
  • Training/courses working with specialized groups (i.e. Disability, ESL, new immigrants) are required.
  • Minimum five (5) years' practical experience in the following areas: developing and delivering career focused workshops and mentorship programs.
  • Experience of data management, entry and development of reports and creating presentations.
  • Direct experience of working within an educational environment and providing customer service support. Experience of working within a post-secondary environment, specifically, alumni relations.
  • Experience of coordinating multiple events to support business objectives and goals.
  • Second language considered to be an asset.

Skills andAttributes:
  • Excellent knowledge of customer relationship management databases, such as Salesforce, Banner and CRM systems.
  • Analytical skills required to track graduate usage of alumni services and assess demand and trends of services as well as broader economic and labour market trends.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to uphold the College's priorities on diversity and equity.
  • Able to travel between campuses, employer and partner offices for meetings on a monthly basis.


Interview process may consist of a practical skills component.
