POSITION SUMMARY
Under direction of the Vice President of Human Resources, responsible for programming and services on employee relations, labor relations and employee issues to management. Establishes positive employee relations and best places to work culture. Investigates potential policy violations and advises hospital management. Provides manager training on current policies, policy changes and best practices. Provides leadership and legal expertise in collective bargaining agreement negotiations and legal interpretation.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
EducationMinimum (Required)Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field required
Preferred (Not required)
Work ExperienceMinimum (Required) Minimum three to five years relevant Human Resources experience in a tactical role including recruitment, benefits, employee/labor relations.
Demonstrate excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Must have previous experience in a union environment including collective bargaining agreement administration.
Previous experience in compliance audits required.
Computer and data management skills.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Consults and assists hospital leaders with workplace employee and labor relations matters.
- Conducts workplace investigations and makes recommendations for resolution.
- Assist with day-to-day CBA administration.
- Administers corrective actions including performance improvement plans, progressive discipline.
- Establishes positive employee relations and best places to work culture.
- Monitors workplace compliance with workplace policies, CBAs, and local, state, and federal employment and labor laws.
- Coordinates and participates in union negotiations and arbitration.
- Conduct workplace investigations of employee complaints (EEO, ADA, FMLA, etc.).
- Develop, administer and revise complex workplace policies. Ensures that the policies are fair and in regulatory compliance.
- Participates and coordinates involuntary termination process.
- Advises management on employee and labor relations issues and conducts management training.
- Represent MHSC in grievance and arbitration proceedings.
- Provide responses to government agencies.
- Other job duties as assigned.
