Job Summary
In this newly created role, you will be responsible for managing all day to day aspects of Vicor's 3DI Chip plating manufacturing production operations, reporting to the Vice President of Plating Operations. This line is highly automated and runs high-volume, medium mix for external customers, and low-volume, high-mix for internal customers. As manager, you will ensure that all equipment capacity, headcount and process lead times are aligned to support Vicor's growing business demands.
Job Description
Determine cycle times in each area to evaluate capacity relative to Vicor's growing demand
Monitor daily department throughput to evaluate process efficiencies. Root cause efficiency gaps and create action to address all gaps
Addresses any production or quality related issue
Work daily with planning to understand required output and priorities. Drive all production demand through the department supervisors and ensure daily commits are being achieved.
Communicates to various departments on production status and issues
Directly Manage a 3 shift operation,
o 1st shift supervisor and logistis/inventory
o 2nd and third shift supervisor
Ensures all orders are shipped on-time, while adhering to all product quality requirements
Optimizes labor and capital resources to minimize product cost and maximize efficiency
Develop and organize departmental costs and budgets
Develops departmental resources and addresses any departmental performance issues
Works to continuously improve operations, reducing costs, scrap, and cycle time
Establishes a working environment that promotes continuous improvement and high morale.
Works with Production Planning, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Design Engineering on a regular basis
Ensures the smooth integration of new processes into the manufacturing organization, proactively training production personnel, reviewing work instructions and ensuring production personnel understand and follow new procedures
Education / Qualifications
BS in Engineering, Business, Operations or Management.
8+ years of experience working in high-tech manufacturing production.
Minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience working in a leadership role in a manufacturing environment
Experience working in both new production introduction and high volume environment
Working knowledge of ERP systems
Proven record of attracting, selecting, training, developing and managing staff
Demonstrated experience utilizing world class manufacturing techniques such as SPC, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, 8D, etc.

Salary Range:
$121,040.00 $151,300.00 $196,690.00
