The Director of Tax will be responsible for leading and managing all tax-related functions for Millennium Physician Group and the broader group of affiliated entities This role involves a strategic focus on optimizing tax positions while ensuring compliance with the specific regulations that govern the healthcare sector.

Responsibilities
Ensure timely and accurate filing of all federal, state, and local tax returns.
Maintain compliance with all tax laws and regulations.
Oversee the preparation and review of tax provisions and disclosures for financial statements.
Develop and implement tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities and optimize the company's tax position.
Advise senior management on the tax implications of business decisions and transactions.
Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the organization.
Manage tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities.
Identify and mitigate tax risks through effective internal controls and processes.
Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping for all tax-related activities.
Lead and mentor the tax team, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance.
Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
Conduct performance evaluations and identify professional development opportunities for team members.
Demonstrate excellent guest service to internal team members and patients.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or equivalent certification required.
Advanced degree (MBA, master's in taxation) preferred.
10+ years of progressive tax experience
6 + years in a leadership role.
Extensive experience in the healthcare industry is highly preferred.
Proven track record of managing complex tax issues and leading successful tax strategies.
In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Utilizes conflict resolution skills to mitigate staff disagreements with the expectation of building team culture and collaboration.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

Physical Demands

Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The worker must have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading. Ability to lift to 15 lbs. independently not to exceed 50 lbs. without help.
