Position Information:

BreakForth Solutions is seeking a Sr. Business Development Operations Analyst with significant experience researching and analyzing the federal government contracting (GovCon) marketplace for professional IT and management services. The selected candidate will work closely with the Growth Team (BD, Capture, Proposal and Marketing/Communications) to provide market research and analysis on federal agency account and target opportunities and industry IT trends.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with the Growth team to receive, gather analyze, and organize data from open-source resources, internet-based government agency information and proprietary subscription sources.
  • Function as internal lead evaluating business opportunities (i.e., Sources Sought Notices, Requests for Information (RFIs), SOW/PWS and IDIQ/RFQ/RFP documents to influence appropriate pursuit strategy and response submission along with execution requirements.
  • Support the corporate growth lifecycle process by supporting the coordination, identification, and prioritization of a suspect, prospect, lead, opportunity with bid analysis and research highlighting risks and opportunities, suggesting solutions, and effectively presenting analysis, advice, and guidance to executive-level and front-line staff.
  • Readily offer support, ideas, and positive suggestions for other duties as assigned.
  • Provide general administrative support to the BSi Business Development (BD) team.
  • Take time to understand BSi services, markets, content areas, and differentiators.
  • Develop a strong understanding of both customer requirements and the company's services, helping to ensure proper alignment.
  • Assist the BD team with managing/developing a pipeline of federal government opportunities for the organization to bid on that align with BreakForth's strategic vision and tactical plan.
  • Help to research and monitor potential/pending/active bid opportunities (via Deltek GovWin, Grants.gov, SAM.com, etc.) and promptly notify team amendments, extensions, Q&As, cancellations, etc.
  • Conduct opportunity and information searches using tools such as FBO, FPDS, USA Spending, GovWin, agency forecasts, and internal databases.
  • Work on and further BreakForth's knowledge management systems in file storage, SMEs database, capture information, etc.
  • Assist in the ongoing improvement of business development, capture, knowledge management, and strategic planning processes within the organization.
  • Help to evolve, update, and improve BD resources and tools such as MS Excel worksheets including developing and presenting BD activity summary reports as requested.
  • Organize meetings; prepare necessary presentation materials and distribute as needed; attend and take notes; distribute minutes to all participants; participate in and facilitate meetings as needed.
  • Display an elevated level of verbal and written communication skills for presenting and information.

Education/Skills/Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, communication, or another closely related field of study, from an accredited college or university is preferred.
  • 7-10 years of business development experience in the GovCon marketplace.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite and SharePoint.
  • Experience in SharePoint and CRM tools to manage business development workflows.
  • Proficient in working with readily available tools like GSA eBuy (for MAS and GWAC contracts), SeaPort, SAM.gov, Federal Procurement Database (FPDS), and USAspending.gov.
  • Proficient in working with subscription services like GovWin IQ, GovTribe, Capture to Proposal (C2P), etc.
  • Familiarity with internet-based tools and search capability sites (e.g., LinkedIn) and assisting in social media campaigns.
  • Familiar with government FAR, NAICS codes, GSA SINs, and standard government contracting clauses.
  • Two-five years' post-graduation progressive experience in business development or similar research-focused role(s); preferably in the government contracting or management consulting space.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision in an "all-hands" environment.
