Job Title: PET/CT Technologist

Shift: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm or 10:00 am to 6:00 pm
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Experience: Minimum years of experience not specified
License: Active license from the State Department of Health (Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist License Diagnostic with Injection Registered)
Certifications: Registered with the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board - Nuclear Medicine Tech (NMT) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) - Nuclear Medicine Technology (N), Active CT certification for diagnostic CT and PET-CT fusion imaging, Basic Life Support (BLS)
Must-Have: Great organizational skills, ability to start peripheral IV access lines, perform injection procedures, and process all PET CT Imaging

Job Description:

- Perform PET imaging on patients of all ages to assist in the diagnosis of patient illness under general direction and clinical supervision.
- Comply with laws, regulations, and policies governing nuclear medicine practice.
- Follow hospital and division policies, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
- Conduct examinations of appropriate anatomical regions, ensuring pre-procedural preparations are met.
- Review procedure requests and patient information, exercising judgment in assessing patient needs.
- Administer contrast agents and/or radiopharmaceuticals under approved guidance.
- Perform equipment quality checks, troubleshoot issues, and notify necessary personnel.
- Document radiopharmaceutical doses and maintain a clean environment.
- Transfer and archive studies to designated systems.
- Provide images to the reading room in accordance with standards.
- Assist with supply management and complete administrative tasks.
- Follow quality assurance guidelines and maintain confidentiality.
- Report to the assigned area promptly and perform required quality assurance and documentation tasks.
- Ensure all radiopharmacy delivery cases are properly managed.
- Follow protocol guidelines for radiopharmaceutical administration and imaging procedures.
- Maintain technical competency through continued education.
