Position Overview
This At-Will position manages Probate cases and filings, assists Magistrate team in processing electronic filings, presides over hearings, and writes legally defensible decisions. The Magistrate position partners with the Probate Judge and the existing Magistrate team to create and maintain a highly effective and efficient Court.
Summary of Job Duties
This position conducts hearings, legal research, monitors and manages matters to promote judicial fairness, accuracy, and economy in compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Rules of Superintendence, Rules of Civil Procedure, and other legal authority. The position is also required to conduct hearings, examine a variety of legal documents, monitors and manages cases, drafts court decisions and paperwork.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
Position requires the Magistrate to be an Ohio Licensed attorney engaged in the practice of law for at least four (4) years and in good standing with the Ohio Supreme Court -AND- Annual registration with the Ohio Supreme Court - Office of Attorney Services.

Must be Ohio Licensed Attorney engaged in the practice of law for four (4) years.

Seasonal Employees: Benefits include Sick Leave accrued at 4.6 hours for every eighty 80 hours in active
pay status. Seasonal employees scheduled to work 40 hours during their period of employment will accrue vacation in the same manner as regular full-time employees and can use their vacation after completion of twenty-six (26) bi-weekly pay periods in active pay status. Part-time Seasonal employees (scheduled to work less than 40 hours) do not accrue vacation.
Intermittent and Temporary Employees: Long-Term Sick Leave accrual is based on hours worked.
