Job Description:
- Plan and implement professional psychological service programs in the facility
- Coordinate and direct the activities of personnel providing psychological services to inmates/residents
- Conduct psychological screenings and assessments based on record reviews and clinical interviews
- Collaborate with clinical staff such as psychiatrists, physicians, nurses, and social workers to gather and provide patient information
- Develop, implement, and modify individual treatment plans for inmates based on evaluation of needs and level of functioning
- Regularly assess inmate adjustment and mental health treatment needs, especially in segregation or confined housing areas
- Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of psychological counseling theory and techniques
- Provide mental health assessments, counseling, and intervention strategies to inmates in crisis
- Consult with multidisciplinary teams to understand and address problem behaviors and changes in mental health conditions
