Job Title: Registered Nurse
Job Specialty: Operating Room
Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Days, 4x10, 06:30-17:00
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Experience: Minimum 2 years, with Level 1 or 2 Trauma experience
License: Current RN License (Meets the criteria to be eligible for licensure in the state of Missouri or currently licensed in Missouri)
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association only
Must-Have:
- 2 years Level 1 or 2 Trauma experience
- Scrub and OR Circulator experience
- Highly motivated self-starter
Job Description:
- Assist with Vascular Surgeon in Operating Room and Hybrid Imaging Suite.
- Work with a team of nurses and surgical techs for endovascular and open cases.
- Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care and maintain professional accountability.
- Evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers.
- Coordinate patient care in conjunction with other departments.
- Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.
- Perform duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with mission, values, and service standards.
- Perform direct patient care activities for all age groups, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize care and comfort.
- Function within the scope of nursing preparation and consistent with established guidelines of nursing practice.
- Demonstrate skill in human relations and communications.
- Maintain clinical expertise in area of responsibility.
- Stand and walk most of the time on duty and lift and push patients on stretchers and in wheelchairs.
- Work in a clean, air-conditioned area with specific physical demands, including pushing, pulling, and gripping up to 50 lbs., and kneeling, crouching, and crawling minimally.
