Job Description

TheU.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) requires that ISU have ReactorSupervisor to facilitate use of ISU's AGN-201 reactor for teaching and research.

Key Responsibilities
Preparation, promulgation, and enforcement of administrative controls includingall rules, regulations, instructions, and operating procedures to ensure thatreactor facility is operated in safe, competent, and authorized manner at alltimes (25%)
Directing activities of operators and technicians in dailyoperation and maintenance of reactor; schedule reactor operations andmaintenance (25%)
Preparation, authentication, and storage of all prescribedlogs and operating records (10%)
Authorization of experiments, procedures,and changes thereto approved by Reactor Safety Committee &/or RadiationSafety Committee and Reactor Administrator (15%)
Preparation of experimentalprocedures involving use of reactor. (10%)
Maintaining valid Senior Reactor Operator'slicense issued by U.S. NRC (15%)

Minimum Qualifications
  • B.S. in science or engineering and/or six years of equivalent experience
  • Ability to acquire and maintain NRC licensure as Senior Reactor Operator

Preferred Qualifications
  • MS in nuclear engineering and reactor operator experience

Additional Information

Salary will be between $80,000 - $85,000 per year,commensurate with education and experience.
