Job Summary
Reporting directly to the Associate Vice Provost for Student Access and Community Engagement, the Director will be responsible for developing a strategic vision for the student engagement center at the Indianapolis location and executing programs and services in support of Purdue's academic mission and the strategic priorities. The director will create administrative initiatives that will lead to the development and execution of programs, events, student leadership opportunities, and educational workshops. Additionally, the Director will collaborate with various campus and community-based constituencies to identify opportunities to strengthen a student's experience on campus.

Job Summary
Reporting directly to the Associate Vice Provost for Student Access and Community Engagement, the Director will be responsible for developing a strategic vision for the student engagement center at the Indianapolis location and executing programs and services in support of Purdue's academic mission and the strategic priorities. The director will create administrative initiatives that will lead to the development and execution of programs, events, student leadership opportunities, and educational workshops. Additionally, the Director will collaborate with various campus and community-based constituencies to identify opportunities to strengthen a student's experience on campus.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design and implement a bold strategic vision for the student engagement center at the Indianapolis location to foster stronger connections and deeper engagement among students, faculty and staff with one another and the university. .
- Work with various departments to develop programs and initiatives to support the needs of students and work closely with student organizations and serve in an advising role as necessary.
- Represent the department at various campus events including, but not limited to, Boiler Gold Rush Orientation and Admissions events and support efforts to attract prospective students to Purdue University.
- Lead efforts to provide dynamic learning activities, programs, and dialogues that enrich the community and foster shared understanding, in collaboration with students, student organizations, and campus and community stakeholders.
- Optimize utilization of the center as an academic, student success and engagement, community enrichment, and innovation space.
- Manage all aspects of the center, including program development, budget oversight, space management and program assessment.
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree
- Eight or more years of professional exerience
- Five years of leadership experience working with students/student organizations, in a higher education environment
- Event planning skills along with the ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to interact effectively with students
- Ability to inspire a shared vision and to inform and influence stakeholders and collaborators
- Strong interpersonal skills, including an ability to display diplomacy and sensitivity with all constituencies
- Experience using data-driven decision making to advance strategic goals
