Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Business Development (BD)/Capture Lead to join our team. This role is critical in driving the growth and expansion of our government contracting portfolio. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in identifying and capturing new business opportunities civilian agencies (i.e., non-DoD) and other government sectors, with a deep understanding of the federal acquisition process and a network of contacts across various civilian agencies and industry partners.

Key Responsibilities:
  • BD Strategy: Develop and implement comprehensive BD strategies to identify and pursue new opportunities within the federal contracting market space.
  • Capture Management: Lead capture efforts for federal opportunities, including developing capture plans, building and managing winning teams comprised of industry partners, and supporting the proposal development process.
  • Relationship Building: Establish and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers within government agencies, prime contractors, and industry partners to facilitate business growth and enhance our competitive position.
  • Pipeline Management: Build and manage a robust pipeline of opportunities, tracking progress and ensuring alignment with company goals and priorities.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including operations, technical, finance, and compliance, to ensure successful project execution and customer satisfaction.
  • Thought Leadership: Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and forums to enhance our visibility and establish thought leadership in the government contracting community.
  • Proposal Development: Willingness to roll up your sleeves and assist on proposal development, as needed.


Qualifications:
  • Experience: 10-15 years of experience in BD and capture management within the government contracting industry, with a strong focus on federal markets.
  • Proven Track Record: Demonstrated success in winning large-scale contracts and driving revenue growth in a competitive environment.
  • Knowledge: Deep understanding of the federal acquisition process, including FAR, GSA, SBA, and other relevant regulations.
  • Network: Established network of contacts within government agencies, prime contractors, and industry partners.
  • Skills: Strong strategic thinking, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build consensus across diverse stakeholders.
  • Leadership: Experience leading and managing cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Location: Remote in the National Capitol Region


Contact with Others

The BD/Capture Lead will communicate face-to-face, by email, and by telephone with other members of the BD team, other KAI staff, and existing and prospective clients and partners. Interactions will include both in-person and virtual meetings and conferences.

Job Conditions

The BD/Capture Lead position is fully remote. The position may require occasional travel for client meetings, conferences, and industry events, as well as occasional extended hours. Close computer work for extended periods of time will be required.
