The base pay range for this position is $111,200.00 - 185,400.00 USD Annual
The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a 15% performance bonus.
*The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
This position will stay open on the career website until at least 2/17/25.

Job Description
What you'll do
- Work with Test Engineer team and Combustion Design team members to plan, implement and execute high pressure combustion tests in a safe and efficient manner.
- Provide technical leadership to Facility Operations team members
- Plan and schedule workload for Facility Operations team members
- Review new test program requirements and specialty tests to evaluate what customer is really trying to accomplish and make ensure the facility can accomplish test goal.
- Identify improvements required and risks associated with program/test.
- Work with customers to ensure hardware instrumentation is effective in design and execution.
- Develop series of standard test setup and execution plans including facility line up, data acquisition requirements, and methods of execution.
- Work with lab leadership team to develop test schedule and execute per plan. Represent lab at all test scheduling meetings.
- Develop criteria and methods for evaluation of data and troubleshooting in control room while test is running.
- Provide leadership and coordination of Lab Process Safety Management Programs.
- Be accountable for mechanical integrity of facility through effective leadership of the preventative/reactive maintenance program.
- Coordinate response to emergent facility issues as the interface with Test Operations, Facility Systems, Design Engineering, and EHS.
- Participate in Laboratory facility engineering project design reviews and process hazard analyses, from both engineering and EHS perspective.
- Provide technical assistance to the Lab Manager in support of Lab Air Quality permits, reports, and related project planning.
- Work closely with contract workforce leadership to ensure alignment and adherence to safety, quality, delivery and cost expectations and deliverables.
- Create long and short-term productivity strategies that take into account capital investment planning, industry trends, shop environments, field issues, and customer needs
- Participate in key initiatives that go beyond your components to include network strategies, organizational strategies, business practice strategies and others
- Mentor your team through the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements
- Collaborate with design engineering and support design reviews for facility projects
- Ensure the documentation of technical data generated by the team is consistent with engineering policies and procedures
- Lead assessment and action plan for standard operating procedures to address gaps in training needs and operational rigor.
- Acts as our technical or domain resource for others in the organization and our customers, often creating and providing training for interfacing groups
- Make personal and team learning a priority
- Readily apply learnings from diverse experiences to solve business problems.
Basic Qualifications
- BS in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical or Controls Engineering or equivalant knowledge and experience
- Minimum 8 years power plant or test facility experience
Eligibility Requirements
- Must be authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship now or in the future.
- Must be able to work 100% onsite in Greenville, SC
What will make you stand out?
- Preference will be given to current Gas Power Engineering employees
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in gas turbine manufacturing, design, or test
- Master's Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university
- Experience in Gas Turbine Combustion manufacture, design, or repair
- Lean training or equivalent quality training
- Strong mechanical design and analytical background
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes
- Ability to drive projects to completion
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization and external customers
