Assistant Director of Payroll Operations

We are seeking an Assistant Director of Payroll! The ideal candidate is customer focused, solution oriented, knowledgeable, and a strong communicator.

Essential Functions:

• Lead and oversee Payroll Accountants and Senior Payroll Accountants, focusing on training, performance management, and professional growth.
  
  
• Manage the timely processing of monthly, biweekly, weekly, and off-cycle payrolls, ensuring all payroll, direct deposit, and banking deadlines are met.
  
  
• Ensure accurate payroll system configurations and maintenance, guaranteeing precise earnings, withholdings, and deductions for error-free net pay.
  
  
• Collaborate with employees and departments to resolve complex payroll issues and serve as a liaison to internal and external auditors.
  
  
• Supervise the escheatment process for payroll payments, ensuring accurate and timely compliance reporting.
  
  
• Communicate changes in payroll procedures or regulatory requirements to managers and employees, ensuring clarity and understanding of their impact.
  
  
• Administer payroll withholdings and ensure proper disbursement to vendors and governmental agencies.
  
  
• Carry out additional tasks as needed.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
  
  
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  
  
• Proven managerial experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Comprehensive knowledge of payroll processes, regulations, and compliance standards.
  
  
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  
  
• Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities.
  
  
• Familiarity with payroll software systems (Banner HR, OAS Reporting, Hyperion Reporting, ADP).
  
  
• Advanced skills in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  
  
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation.
  
  Compensation: $75,000 to $115,000 annually
  Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
