Job Description
Job Title: Registered Nurse
Job Specialty: Oncology
Job Duration: 8 weeks
Shift: 8 Hour Days, Tuesday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Experience: Minimum 1 year experience in oncology infusions
License: RN License
Certifications: Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy certification through the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS), Basic Life Support (BLS)
Must-Have: Strong IV skills and experience accessing/using implanted ports
Job Description:
- Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and supportive infusions and injections.
- Collaborate with providers during weekly clinics.
- Provide patient education and support.
- Manage patients on oral medications.
- Assist in ordering and scheduling tests and procedures.
- Utilize equipment such as Evident/Thrive EMR, Baxter IV pumps, and vital sign monitors.
- Work solo in the infusion center with on-site pharmacy and ER physician support available as needed.
- Participate in a general new hire orientation, EMR training, and clinical skills checkoff.
- No requirement for working weekends, holidays, or being on call.
- Dress code requirement: scrubs.
- Nurse to patient ratio: 1 RN to 2 patients.
