Job Title: Nuclear Medicine Technologist
Job Specialty: Nuclear Medicine
Job Duration: 11 weeks
Shift: Day, Mon - Fri 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. with rotating call every other weekend
Guaranteed Hours: 40 per week
Experience: Cardiac and General experience preferred
License: ARRT (N) or NMTCB
Certifications: BLS required
Must-Have: Venipuncture, Nuclear Medicine, ARRT (N) or NMTCB, Patient Care
Job Description:
- Participate in activities to ensure quality patient care.
- Perform radiographic exams using ionizing radiation, ensuring protection for all patients with ALARA principles.
- Supervise staff technologists in the correct use of radiation-producing equipment.
- Conduct invasive procedures and exams requiring contrast agents under the supervision of a radiologist.
- Supervise staff technologists in the correct performance of procedures.
- Engage in performance improvement activities within the Radiology Department.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement activities within the hospital or Radiology Department.
- Adhere to infection control principles while providing direct patient care.
- Perform safety and control checks on department equipment as per standards.
- Demonstrate proper application of medication administration principles.
- Ensure patient protection via lead shielding, confidentiality, and safety measures.
- Wear a radiation film badge at all times while on duty.
- Explain procedures to patients and secure proper consent forms.
- Provide age-appropriate care, evidenced by completion of age-specific competency checklist.
Education: Graduate of an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology or an accredited Nuclear Medicine program.
