Responsibilities

In accordance with the mission and philosophy of Dignity Health, the position is responsible for
performing initial and on-going collection and re-assessment of data focusing on biophysical,
psychological, environmental, self-care education and discharge preparedness; developing,
implementing and evaluating the care of assigned patients in surgery; practicing effective problem
identification and resolution using clinical knowledge base and sound decision making skills; performing scrub and/or circulating duties; applying Dignity Health core values to the performance of every job duty. - these Values include Dignity, Collaboration, Justice, Stewardship, and Excellence. Incumbents in this position shall comply with all applicable laws and rules including the Dignity Health Standards of Conduct and Dignity Health policies and procedures that apply to his/her job responsibilities, seek guidance when in doubt, promptly report any potential or suspected violation of Dignity Health Standards of Conduct, Dignity Health policy or procedure or applicable laws/regulations and when requested, assist Dignity Health personnel in investigating all allegations of violation. When called upon, the incumbent shall assist in risk evaluation and work collaboratively with facility/entity leaders to implement, monitor and mitigate risk corrective plans outlined by the Compliance program.

Qualifications

Minimum:
  • One (1) year of previous clinical experience within the past three (3) years in an Operating Room setting in an acute care hospital.
  • Graduation from an accredited program of professional nursing
  • Successful completion of a post-graduate perioperative training program preferred.
  • Successful completion of a post-graduate perioperative training program


Licensure:
  • Current California licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Current certification in American Heart Association, Basic Life Support (BLS)


Preferred:
  • Cardiovascular surgery experience within the past five (5) years preferred.
  • BSN preferred.
  • ACLS Preferred
