License: RN License in state of employment or compact
Certifications: BLS required

Job Description:

- Practice nursing independently with an awareness of all relevant aspects of the clinical setting.
- Provide both routine and complex care and focus on long-term planning.
- Develop the ability to manage contingencies in clinical nursing effectively.
- Appropriately assign tasks and delegate responsibilities to other care providers.
- Meet the expectations of applicable competencies related to leadership and self-management.
- Provide nursing care using the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
- Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
- Administer medications and treatments following the appropriate protocol, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness.
- Document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given accurately.
- Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers.
- Utilize critical thinking skills to assess patient and family needs, develop care plans, and modify them as needed.
- Implement patient care and therapeutic procedures, documenting the progression of treatment and teaching goals.
- Evaluate the care and treatment provided and the patient's response.
- Plan for patient admission, discharge, or transfer to facilitate patient flow.
- Communicate patient information effectively across the continuum of care.
- Maintain standards, procedures, and adherence to healthcare regulations.
- Use basic medical equipment, ensuring proper working order and patient safety.
- Process medical orders accurately, recognizing potential errors and correcting them.
- Interpret patient charts and ensure their accuracy, addressing potential misinterpretations.
- Share experiences and ensure patient safety in various settings, responding to safety inquiries, and addressing safety concerns effectively.
