About This Opportunity
FPA is seeking a Senior Project Engineer- Electrical at our Wall Township, New Jersey office. We are looking for a highly experienced and motivated Senior Project Engineer with 7 to 10 years of expertise in electrical engineering, specifically in the design and implementation of electrical systems for a variety of facilities, including industrial, healthcare, commercial, office, and educational projects. This position requires a Professional Engineer (PE) license and the ability to lead and manage electrical design projects from start to finish. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of overseeing complex electrical designs, providing technical leadership, and engaging with clients in a professional and effective manner.

Core Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the design of electrical systems for diverse projects, including power distribution, lighting, grounding, fire alarm systems, and control systems across industrial, healthcare, commercial, office, and educational facilities.
- Develop comprehensive electrical design documents, including detailed calculations, specifications, and technical drawings, ensuring high standards of quality and accuracy.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, designers, and project teams, ensuring alignment with project objectives and client needs.
- Collaborate closely with mechanical engineers, project managers, and construction teams to integrate electrical systems effectively into overall building designs.
- Analyze complex electrical system issues, troubleshoot challenges, and provide innovative, cost-effective solutions to ensure optimal project outcomes.
- Ensure that all designs comply with relevant electrical codes, industry standards, and safety regulations, including NEC, NFPA, and local construction codes.
- Conduct site visits, inspections, and field evaluations to oversee project progress, address on-site issues, and ensure accurate implementation of electrical systems.
- Coordinate with clients, vendors, and contractors to ensure that electrical design specifications are met and projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and relevant standards to continuously improve engineering practices and deliver cutting-edge solutions.
- Foster strong client relationships by engaging with them in a professional and effective manner, ensuring clear communication and satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
What We Are Looking ForRequired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- 7-10 years of hands-on experience in electrical system design, with extensive experience managing and executing electrical engineering projects.
- Strong technical expertise in electrical design principles, including power distribution, lighting, grounding, and fire alarm systems.
- Proficiency in industry-standard electrical design software, including AutoCAD and Revit.
- Thorough understanding of electrical codes, regulations, and standards, such as NEC, NFPA, and other industry-specific guidelines.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to prepare clear technical documentation and present complex information to clients, stakeholders, and team members.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex engineering challenges efficiently.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-disciplinary teams and effectively mentor junior engineers and designers.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for site visits and project-related activities.
