INDUS supports the planning, coordination, and installation activities of Combat System and Command, Control, Communications, Computer, and Intelligence (C5I) Systems in aircraft carriers, and other strike group or strike force units (including but not limited to LHA, LHD, LPD, and other L-Class units). Our team is directly responsible for supporting the planning, budgeting, and execution of New Construction (SCN) testing and modernization efforts in support of the Modernization and Installation Department (N Department), Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC), Port Hueneme Division (PHD).

Reporting to the Program Manager, the Modernization Readiness Assessment (MRA) Manager provides direct project management support to the Integrated Warfare Systems (IWS) 80 Principal Assistant Program Manager (PAPM) in the areas of Combat Systems Engineering principles, theories, concepts, techniques, and systems integration for all In-Service, Refueling Complex Overhaul (RCOH), and New Construction Aircraft Carriers on the CVN/L-Class Support Services contract. The ideal candidate has prior experience supporting combat systems installation and integration efforts, and experience managing stakeholder requirements. This position is also charged with establishing working relationships with various counterparts of Program Executive Office for Integrated Warfare Systems (PEO IWS) such as Ship Self Defense Systems (SSDS), Rolling Airframe Missile (RAM), NATO SEASPARROW (NSSMS), and Cooperative Engagement (CEC). This position is located in Washington, D.C. (Washington Navy Yard).

What You'll Do

  • Manage Aircraft Carrier (CVN) Modernization Readiness Assessments. Track deliverables from A-12 (12 months prior to Carrier Availabilities) through execution.
  • Coordinate with the Advance Planner (who tracks deliverables starting at A-24), Ship Life Cycle Managers, and Participating Managers (PARMs) to validate Modernization Readiness Assessment (MRA) spreadsheets against advanced planning resources to ensure timely installation of Integrated Warfare System (IWS) products inside of Availabilities.
  • Provide support for PRE/PRL metrics, attend and present at Planning Yard Program Reviews (PYPRs), and deliver weekly updates to Principal Assistant Program Manager (PAPM) of In-Service Aircraft Warfare systems.
  • Provide weekly Dashboards to IWS 80 PAPM and Staff, and monthly A-360 Deliverables to Flag-level administrations where Late Adds are approved and/or disapproved.
  • Update and manage the SharePoint Portal for easy access to shared documentation for PEO IWS 80.
  • Bid and proposal support if requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.


What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:
  • An active secret clearance is required to be considered for this position.
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited university required.
  • At least five (5) years of experience providing combat systems test, engineering, or integration support services OR a minimum of 15 years technical experience showing progressive advancement of roles/responsibilities.
  • Must possess basic computer literacy and data entry skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (to include MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
  • Must possess strong time management skills.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment.
  • Must be able to remain seated in a stationary position 50% of the time. Must also be able to alternate between sitting, standing, and walking.
  • The ability to lift items that may weigh up to 50 pounds.
  • The ability to travel and work aboard ship, if needed.
  • Travel Required ~10% travel required.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Master's degree from an accredited university desired.
  • At least seven (7) years of systems engineering/combat systems integration experience OR a minimum of 20 years technical experience showing progressive advancement of roles/responsibilities.
  • Knowledge and experience of Aircraft Carrier Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Combat, and Intelligence (C5I) systems.
  • The ability to effectively brief and present work progress and status presentations in meetings with Senior Program personnel.

INDUS aims to provide a competitive compensation package, including a strong pay for performance rewards approach. The expected base pay range for this position is $110,000. - $130,000. The pay range for this role considers job-related knowledge, skills, work location, education and training, and certifications.
