Essette, a medical management software division within HMS, is seeking a talented Database Administrator/SQL Developer, responsible for managing database performance and security within the Essette software offering. This role also assists with designing and building high-performing and scalable ETL and data migration solutions. This role will work closely with both Essette's product development and implementation teams. The position is based in Essette's Longmont, Colorado office, with the expectation that the individual work from the office most days to offer high visibility and consistency. Essential Responsibilities: - Performs database/application performance monitoring and tuning in both a development and production-support capacity.- Establishes and maintains sound backup and recovery policies and procedures in conjunction with the system administrators. - Develops database interfaces required to move critical data between disparate systems.- Implements and maintains database security.- Creates and implements plans for database growth and changes.- Creates and documents database development and testing standards.- Builds and maintains scripts to create and populate databases with pre-defined health care industry content.- Performs database patch management and version control.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:- Advanced understanding of Microsoft SQL Server 2014 to the current version.- Database storage, security, warehousing, encryption, and recovery best practices.- Ability to write complex and high-performing SQL statements.- Understanding of industry-standard database management tools.- Experience with transferring large quantities of data (millions of records or more) between systems while applying complex business logic during transformation, using MS SSIS, SQL scripts, or other data transfer tools.- Ability to work independently and with a team.- Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.- Exceptional analytical and deduction skills.
