To continue pushing the boundaries of what's possible, we need a talented Brand Protection Lead who will help safeguard Tesla's brand and reputation across the globe.

This position will focus on protecting and maintaining Tesla's brand across the online space globally. The Brand Protection Paralegal will be responsible for implementing and executing Tesla's online strategy to combat counterfeiting and trademark infringements. This includes managing online brand protection efforts across a variety of platforms such as websites, social media, marketplaces, and paid ads. The role also involves providing support to Tesla's employees, and partners in the proper use of Tesla's trademarks, collaborating closely with Tesla's legal team, and leading efforts to enforce Tesla's intellectual property rights.

Responsibilities
  • Implement and execute a global strategy to protect Tesla from online counterfeiting and trademark infringements
  • Manage global brand protection efforts and enforce Tesla's trademarks across various digital platforms, including websites, social media, and online marketplaces
  • Manage customs seizures and support customs recordations to prevent counterfeit goods from entering the market
  • Forecast and manage the brand protection budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to support global and U.S.-based initiatives
  • Provide guidance and support to Tesla's legal team, including working with outside counsel on complex brand protection issues
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with teams in marketing, legal, and operations to develop long-term strategies, policies, and procedures for brand protection
  • Lead and manage external vendors involved in brand protection efforts, including online monitoring services


Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in brand protection or intellectual property enforcement, with a focus on online brand protection, trademark law, and civil/criminal enforcement
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft clear and concise communications for both internal and external audiences
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with outside counsel, legal teams, and various stakeholders
  • Exceptional analytical, judgment, and problem-solving skills, with a keen ability to assess risk and develop proactive strategies
  • Experience in the tech or automotive industries is a plus

      $72,000 - $126,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

      Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
