Strategic Sourcing Specialist

Summary: We are looking for a talented and experienced Strategic Sourcing Specialist with a solid background in both operational and strategic sourcing within various manufacturing environments. The ideal candidate will play a key role in creating and executing sourcing strategies that drive cost savings, ensure high-quality standards, and enhance our manufacturing operations. This position demands a thorough understanding of supply chain dynamics, exceptional negotiation abilities, and the skill to manage complex supplier relationships across diverse manufacturing sectors.

Responsibilities:

• Create and implement strategic sourcing plans for materials, components, and services across multiple manufacturing sites.
• Oversee the entire sourcing process, including supplier identification, RFP/RFQ management, negotiations, contract execution, and supplier performance assessment.
• Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives as well as supplier development processes across the supply chain by leveraging economies of scale, alternative sourcing options, and process improvements.
• Monitor and analyze the total cost of ownership (TCO) for sourced materials and services, ensuring competitive pricing and maximizing value for the company.
• Collaborate with finance and operations teams to develop and manage sourcing budgets, track savings, and report on financial performance.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, quality, and logistics teams to understand production requirements, align sourcing strategies, and ensure a consistent supply of materials aligned with product specifications, quality standards, and operational objectives.
• Lead process improvements in sourcing and procurement by applying lean principles and best practices to boost efficiency and reduce lead times.
• Support new product development (NPD) efforts by sourcing materials and components that meet technical specifications and project timelines.
• Develop and execute risk management strategies to minimize supply chain disruptions, ensure continuous supply, and address supplier performance risks.
• Ensure all sourcing activities adhere to legal, regulatory, and company policies, including environmental and sustainability standards.
• Stay updated on changes in global trade regulations, tariffs, and market conditions that may influence sourcing decisions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus.
• 5-7 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management within a multi-manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated experience in managing sourcing activities across various manufacturing environments, including complex supply chains and global suppliers.
• Excellent negotiation skills with a proven track record of driving cost savings and securing favorable contract terms.
• Deep understanding of supply chain dynamics, sourcing strategies, and procurement best practices.
• Proficient in sourcing and procurement software, including ERP systems and data analytics tools.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
