The role predominantly focuses on overseeing accounting operations, analyzing financial data, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements in the mortgage banking industry. You will also be responsible for leading and developing the accounting staff, as well as identifying and implementing improvements to financial systems and processes.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the maintenance of the general ledger and reconciliation of accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP and company policies.
Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities that could impact the company's performance.
Prepare financial reports specific to mortgage banking operations, ensuring they are accurate and delivered in a timely manner.
Develop, manage, and monitor budgets and forecasts, keeping them in line with the company's strategic objectives and trends in the mortgage industry.
Ensure the company's compliance with federal and state guidelines specific to mortgage banking and manage external audits.
Supervise, mentor, and develop the accounting staff, providing training on technical accounting topics and industry-specific practices.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance financial systems, such as ERP software, and streamline accounting processes.
Identify and implement innovative solutions, such as AI-driven financial reporting tools, to increase the efficiency and accuracy of accounting operations.
Requirements
Expertise in Accounting Software Systems
Proficiency in ADP - Financial Services
Familiarity with Concur
Experience with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning
Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions
Skilled in managing Accounts Payable (AP)
Experience in managing Accounts Receivable (AR)
Knowledge of Auditing procedures
Proficiency in Billing Functions
