Job Description Summary
The Nursing and Allied Health Division at Cuesta College is seeking Full-Time Tenure Track Nursing Instructors. The position requires the candidate to teach both theory, laboratory (to include simulation), and clinical courses. Assignments for the Nursing tenure-track position could include Monday through Friday daytime courses, afternoon, evening, and Saturday courses, depending on need.

INSTRUCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Faculty are responsible for choosing appropriate course materials, developing a student-centered equity-minded syllabus adhering to a college-approved Course Outline of Record, outlining classroom expectations, and content to be covered as well as developing a plan for content delivery. This position requires regular communication with students throughout the semester, office hour availability, assigning grades, and referral of students to appropriate support services, as needed. Due to changes in instruction delivery, instructors will be expected to become online teaching certified, if not already certified.

-Master's degree in nursing from an accredited institution;

-Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited institution AND master's degree in health education or health science from an accredited institution;om an accredited institution;

Master's degree or higher degree, which includes course work in nursing, education or administration; AND Direct patient care experience within the previous five (5) years in the nursing area (geriatrics, medical-surgical, mental-health/psychiatric nursing, obstetrics, or pediatrics) to which the faculty is assigned, which can be met by a) One (1) year's continuous full-time or its equivalent experience providing direct patient care as a Registered Nurse in the designated nursing area; or b) one (1) academic year of Registered Nurse level clinical teaching experience in the designated area or its equivalent that demonstrates clinical competency; as set by the California Board of Registered Nursing; AND Valid California Registered Nurse License or eligibility for California Licensure as a registered nurse.

Selected applicants will be invited to give a teaching demonstration, and an interview on Wednesday, March 19, 2025.
First Interviews will be held in person or via Zoom by candidate request. In person interviews are preferred and, in the interest of equity, candidates will be reimbursed up to $500 toward their travel expenses if they choose to interview on campus. Virtual teaching and lab demonstrations will be evaluated using the same criteria as in-person demonstrations and will be expected to facilitate similar levels of effectiveness, skill, engagement and interaction.
