Position Summary
Under the SVP of Accelerate, Data Systems Manager is responsible for leading the strategy, management, and execution of database management, data engineering, and data architecture while driving data governance initiatives across the organization. This role requires not only a strong technical background but also exceptional leadership and team management skills. The VP will oversee a team of database developers, data engineers, and administrators, ensuring their alignment with organizational goals and fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability. A service-oriented mindset, high sense of ownership, and excellent communication and problem-solving abilities are essential to the success of this role. They will monitor the database operations, manage capacity planning, and oversee performance testing to ensure optimal performance, scalability, and reliability. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external service vendors to ensure superior service delivery. Define and monitor Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and negotiate support commitments for existing systems. Bring a service-oriented mindset, a strong sense of ownership, and exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills to drive innovation and deliver high-impact results.

Required Experience & Education
A reasonable estimate of the base compensation range for this role is $169k - 220k annually. The actual salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, geographic location, training, licensure and certification, and other factors. Responsibilities & Duties
- Develop and execute a strategic vision for enterprise database architecture, ensuring scalability, performance, and security.
- Lead data engineering initiatives to design and optimize data pipelines, integrations, and workflows to support business needs.
- Define, implement, and enforce data governance frameworks, including policies, procedures, and standards for data management, security, and compliance.
- Manage and mentor a high-performing team of database developers, administrators, and data engineers, fostering professional growth and team cohesion.
- Establish and track performance metrics and KPIs for the team, ensuring accountability and continuous improvement.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance in the investigation, analysis, and resolution of complex database and data-related challenges.
- Partner with business and IT leadership to develop and execute strategies for leveraging data as a key organizational asset.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and analyze data requirements for database and architectural designs.
- Oversee database management activities, including performance tuning, maintenance, sizing, capacity analysis, and utilization.
- Manage database upgrades, new releases, and rollouts, ensuring smooth integration and minimal disruption to business operations.
- Proactively identify and implement process improvements, technology advancements, and best practices in database and data engineering.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal data governance policies.
Required Experience & Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in enterprise-level database development, architecture, and administration, with a focus with transformative data processes and cloud-based technologies.
- Define and enforce data governance standards, ensuring data quality, consistency, and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Experience with cloud platforms, particularly Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse Analytics, and/or Azure Data Factory (ADF).
- Experience with CICD integrated with Git Hub Actions or Azure DevOps.
- Proven leadership experience managing and mentoring teams of database professionals, with a track record of fostering high performance and accountability.
- Strong experience in data engineering, including designing and optimizing data pipelines and managing large-scale data environments.
- Strong leadership skills to drive a collaborative team dynamic in a fast-changing environment
- Expertise in data governance frameworks, policies, and compliance requirements.
- Exceptional organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with a high sense of ownership and accountability.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and departments.
- Experience in stakeholder management and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Preferred experience in the Financial Services or Mortgage industry.
