This clinic provides after-hours care for canine and feline patients, bridging the gap between daytime general practice and emergency/overnight care. Position Highlights:
- Exclusive Urgent Care Focus: The veterinarian will focus solely on urgent care, including wound management, ear infections, vomiting/diarrhea, and euthanasia. There are no wellness appointments or routine exams.
- Flexible Scheduling: The clinic offers swing/second shifts, providing a balanced work-life schedule.
- No Abdominal Surgeries: This role does not involve abdominal surgeries, so the veterinarian can focus on the most common urgent care cases.
- Fear-Free & Feline Friendly: The clinic is Fear-Free certified and prioritizes creating a calm, safe environment for patients, especially for feline-friendly care.
- State-of-the-Art Equipment: The clinic is fully equipped with cloud-based EMR, digital x-ray, and a complete suite of IDEXX in-house lab equipment to ensure efficient, high-quality care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality, compassionate care to both patients and clients, following a relationship-based approach.
- Collaborate with the clinical team and leadership to ensure the best outcomes for patients.
- Build and nurture relationships within the Houston community and the clinic.
- Support and develop veterinary support staff through the LevelUp training program.
- Manage a diverse caseload, including urgent care cases, surgeries, and appointments during clinic hours.
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise:
- DVM/VMD degree from an accredited veterinary school (or successful completion of the ECFVG or PAVE program).
- Active state license in good standing to practice in Texas, or eligibility to obtain a license.
