Senior Accountant

Key Responsibilities:
  • General Ledger Management: Prepare and review journal entries, ensure accurate and timely month-end close processes, and maintain compliance with GAAP and internal policies.
  • Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements, and perform variance analysis on financial data.
  • Account Reconciliations: Conduct monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, including cash, prepaids, accruals, and fixed assets.
  • Special Projects: Support ad-hoc projects and provide financial analysis as required by management.
  • Collaboration: Act as a liaison between the finance department and other units to ensure proper financial record-keeping and compliance with organizational policies.
  • Audit Support:
    • Assist in preparing schedules and documentation required for internal and external audits.
    • Ensure compliance with audit procedures and provide necessary information to auditors.
    • Participate in substantive procedures to support audit assertions, such as completeness, existence, and valuation of financial statements13.
  • Opening Balance Sheet Procedures:
    • Assist in preparing opening balance sheets for new financial periods or entities, ensuring accurate listing of assets, liabilities, and equity24.
    • Verify that the opening balance sheet aligns with the closing balance sheet of the previous period for existing entities4.

Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field. CPA license preferred
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in general ledger accounting, preferably in a similar industry. Big 4 experience preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Strong proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Work Environment:
  • Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday.
  • Duration: Temporary position for six months.
